I have to add that I was against the fingerprints thing at first because it seemed, I dunno, like some sort of invasion of privacy or something, then I started thinking..."well if he commits a crime..." We want our kids protected..And if he does break the law or be somewhere he's not supposed to be, then he should be held accountable.

Yes, Vicki I know..In germany they do not think about anything of cutting an ear off a dog either..

I do not think tatooing or chipping is necessary,  as it is also in the Government  control list , but we sure need to watch our kids better.  Fingerprinting may work if body is intact and DNA  is half correct.

Yeah because we can't take our kids to the local pd and have their prints on file. That would be too easy! Yeah let's tattoo them! I bet we could use that DNA stuff once in a while too.

Word games?
They do think about...
You wrote that they do not think about...
A typo perhaps, or did you mean that Germans do not hesitate cutting ears off? That is how it sounds, they way you describe it! I hate generalizations!
Makes me choke on my tomato salad!
Have a good evening!

Good ole Tomaten salad!            "they way you describe it!   Yes , I meant   they do not hesitate in Germany to cut off an ear if they want a dog bad enough.   Been done a long time according to lots of germans who have lived it.   The Doberman also from Germany has cropped ears so not to be caught so easily as they are born with floppy ears .

I guess I meant they think nothing of doing it.  BUT I have copperheads on my mind so maybe I am getting  coppereitis. Delay of word processing., but I remember where to order spices for Tomaten Salad!!

That is why  most people do a GROIN tattoo as it is not so easily ruined.

I think I will go make some   TOMATEN SALAD'

Thanks again

You have to give them Germans a bit more credit. They are not stupid and can put two and two together if they ever saw a dog with the right ear missing. BTW, in case you missed it.... GSDs in Germany are microchipped now, not tattooed anymore! So, there is no need to get excited about tattoos. As to cropped ears: Cropped ears (and docked tails) have been outlawed many many years ago in Germany, in most of Europe, as a matter of fact. So, you might want to question your sources' credibility.
Also, it is Tomatensalat! Just thought that you might benefit from the correct spelling since you want to throw some German in. Good that you remember where to order those spices 'cause it ain't comin from the ole source. That one can't do freebies anymore, likes a good ole fashion thank you and hates rude attitude!
Have a good one!
