Another Sad Dog Story: - Page 2

Lexie was a great dog. She had a terrific mother and the entire litter was great.
Lexie was shown in AKC obedience and acheived a CDX. In the few shows she was in
she never got below a 2nd place.
She was a happy dog with a high intelligence and superb temperament.
Only those of us who love our dogs that much can understand how Dawn and her family feel.

So very sorry to hear of Lexie passing...you gave her a wonderful, happy life.  Sorry I was away when she passed over the rainbow bridge, hence the late reply.

Dawn,I dont know you other than on this board but as I read this at 630 this morning it saddened me deeply.Hearing about Lexie's will to hang on till you got home is so typical of a good GSD's demeaner.Through all her pain and discomfort  she waiting for her Mom before letting go.There is so much more I would like to say and  cant right now .You are what  Lexie  needed ,someone who could  overlook certain things and still give a dog the life they deserve.Most would of just sent her back but you chose not to and I beleive Lexie knew that.I truely beleive she needed you to be with her when she crossed over to that  better place everyone talks about.She sounds like she was  a wonderfull dog and thats what you need to embrace.I hope that this horrible pain leaves you so that you could give another dog a wonderfull Mom.Take care Dawn and may Lexie RIP.  Domenic

I would like to thank everyone for your support. ONLY people that own dogs, know what this pain is.
I have owned German Shepherds for years, but this is a tough one. She was ONE special dog.
Lexie went on her terms, I did not have to make the decision.
