This IS the profession of my helper/trainer/coach, so he charges accordingly, and is worth every penny!!!! Remember that the amount charged will vary location to location due to cost of living variables, and also someone who does this as a hobby might be inclined to charge less than someone who depends on this as their sole/primary source of income.

We do have members that bring in a training helper once a month and they pay for airfare, put him up and his time for the weekend. I don't know what that cost them, but I can't imagine it's cheap.
As far as big trials yes they should help differ the expenses of travel, food, and lodging for helpers. The same should go for tracklayers too.

I offer my full attention, I offer carry and set up equipment and I do everything I can to help.
I also offer training equipment when I can. An extra sleeve cover, or biting wedge, or any perishable item. He is always appreciative.
