This IS the profession of my helper/trainer/coach, so  he charges accordingly, and is worth every penny!!!!    Remember that the amount charged  will vary location to location due to cost of living variables, and also someone who does this as a hobby might be inclined to charge less than someone who depends on this as their sole/primary source of income.

Funny that not one of us  offered up the actual amount we are paying our helpers!!!!!

by VomMarischal on 19 May 2010 - 04:05

Well Sue, I'm never sure if the amount goes to the club or the helpers. I pay $25 per session in guest fees, but I have no idea who gets the money...the last club I belonged to paid the helper $50 for the morning no matter how many dogs there were.

I don't accept any money, but then again I am cheap... I work for chicken wings and beer on occasion!

We do have members that bring in a training helper once a month and they pay for airfare, put him up and his time for the weekend. I don't know what that cost them, but I can't imagine it's cheap.

As far as big trials yes they should help differ the expenses of travel, food, and lodging for helpers. The same should go for tracklayers too.

I offer my money, he says NO!, so I have a cooler with water, soda, beer and what ever happens to be available.

I offer my full attention, I offer carry and set up equipment and I do everything I can to help.

I also offer training equipment when I can. An extra sleeve cover, or biting wedge, or any perishable item. He is always appreciative.
