Molly,
Best wishes for Tyson!!!
It looks like more than EPI if he was being fed at all.
His stool should be able to tell you a lot also.
If his stool is runny and you can see runny, clear looking fat in it, he most likely has EPI.
Once you see this in an EPI dog's stool you will never forget what it looks like.
If the vet hasn't done it already ask them to check his cobalamin level.
In this condition he could be suffering from a Vitamin B-12 deficiency also.
It is easy to administer via sub-cutaneous injection and it is only once a week.
If you have a source for it, raw ground pig or cow pancreas will also do wonders for him. Even more so than the processed powder that the vet can provide him.
Make sure that the food he is eating has absolutely no soy in it whatsoever. In various studies soy has been known to create pancreatic problems in various animals.
If he does have EPI and you are going to feed him kibble I would highly recommend looking in to Wellness Core Reduce Fat.
He will need a food high in protein and low in fat. Wellness Core Reduced Fat is 33% Protein - 9% Fat. It is the best kibble I could find for a dog with this condition.
All of this info was gathered because of a wonderful black German Shepherd Dog named Lola that came in to my life a few years ago. She was one of the sweetest (once you knew her and she accepted you) and toughest and most protective dogs I have ever met and the most athletic dog I have ever met!
Lola your life was not in vain!
While it lasted we had a lot of fun together!!!
Brutus, Nikka, Wilhelm, Elly and Elba all miss you and loved playing with you!!!
You were truly one of a kind and only two people on this earth fully know and understand that!!!
I still miss you and love you very much!!!
Best wishes for Tyson!!!

Good for you Molly, for rescuing that poor boy Tyson. Good luck on his remaining tests.
I could have sworn I posted this earlier, but when I looked again it wasn't there.

Poor guy.
He seems so energetic for being so thin and wasted.

He just looks so happy and alert for how poor his condition is. Beautiful face. Keep us posted on how he's doing.

He IS thin, Molly. But he looks lively and good otherwise...Hopefully all he needs is good food and a warm place to sleep to fill him back out.
Good luck, and best wishes to Tyson!

I saw the pictures and just wanted to say that you(Molly)are a much better person than me cause I FOR SURE would of got a girl to beat that bitch up,especially having her right there at arms length. How could she not of been embarresed for what she clearly done to this little young dog?I think I had better stop cause this is just to much. What the fk is happening to humanity?
