Very odd case, but aren't they all.

This link says she was living with her child at her parents' house and had the dog in an airplane carrier - but he had dirt and gravel in his digestive tract. http://abclocal.go.com/kabc/story?section=news/local/orange_county&id=7391041

Other reports listed earlier said the dog was tied to a tree in the backyard. Wherever she had him, it was abusive.  The most she could get if convicted of animal cruelty is one to five years and/or a $20,000 fine.

If you can afford to, go donate for Courage's care at:

If she was living at her parents' house, they can't be much better.  The article states that she arrived with her father.  As far as I'm concerned, he should have been arrested too!  Anyone knowing full well that this dog was being starved and did NOTHING, should also be held accountable.  I guess I shouldn't rant until all the details are clear, but I just can't help myself, thinking about the torture he endured, while putting his TRUST in humans!  Garbage, they're garbage!

They're probably being swamped with calls.  Not only did I crosspost this from another board, but it's on all I frequent.  It's also my understanding that it's been posted on Facebook.  So, they're probably not able to work for all the calls.  Not to excuse rude behavior when someone is trying to help, just understand it.

That is horrible that she was a vet tech!!! I was a vet tech and it is our job to care for animals and not abuse them!! What a bitch!! I would have no problem chainning her and starving her like she did to Courage. People like this are just useless.

Sounds like they are swamped with calls.  The link I posted seemed to allow anyone to contribute without making a phone call to do so.

I hope she does some hard time in prison. If her parents stood by, watched and did nothing, they deserve some justice too.

I was also wondering about the parents. The article says they shared a house together. Does that mean 3 adults were watching this dog starve??? And the owner a vet tech???

The sad part, for every animal abuse case that is reported, I'm betting dozens more go unreported.

Thank God the dog has been rescued and is now in good hands, but I think there will be a lot more to this story coming to the surface in the days to come.   I think more than one person will be "hung", based on what I have been reading. Some of the pieces of this puzzle are missing for sure!
