I'm looking for a high drive, hard, titled male in FL or GA that is at stud to outside bitches. I would prefer West German working lines. Can anyone point me in the right direction? I found a few websites, but nothing that really struck my fancy, so to speak. Thanks

Why not call/visit some schutzhund clubs and see?
There are a few nice, titled males in my club.

there are tons of high drive, capable studs in the southeast..pick your flavor...while a particular bloodline for your bitch may be suitable, others may not, some are convinced that the "road to glory" is a heavy linebreeding, some only proclaim that the "outcross" is the only way to go...will that high drive/hard dog that you desire transmit those genes to his progeny, has this been proven....is your bitch lacking in any area..if so,then few if any stud will produce a"super dog" to bitches with major faults, most likely you'll get sub-par to marginal dogs.however if you've been blessed with that"super bitch",then don't settle for a "point dog only"...go see the dog in training, see if his drive remains high during periods of stressful training, can he bounce back after "adjustments"and judge him on his own merits, that will be your"hard dog",and if you decide his bloodline is compatable to your bitch, then do the breeding.technolgy in breeding and transportation allows for a much broader selection pool.....find the stud you want and have "chilled semen" shipped in...a bit of research and "footwork" on your part are all that's required...many will have an opinion, some valid, some based on ego and personal gain..you'll have to sort thru that quagmire on your own.........good luck!

Thank you Mary. I am a member of the main club in my area and the only male I like enough to breed to is a long coat ... I am not against long coats, but not what I want for this particular female.

I know most of the other clubs around my area, but will have to look into visiting some farther south of here.

Ost See - I do not have a vet within a 2 hour drive that I trust to do AI. If all else fails, I will do it. But first, I'd like to try and find an ideal stud within FL and GA.

Thanks again for the suggestions.

I agree with vom ost see - there are plenty of  awesome high drive- titled males in the area you are seeking.  Are you new to the area?  If you are in the GSD community, in these two states ,you wouldn't have to ask the question.....   Not to be rude, but my question to you is if you seek a male of such  - what do you bring to the table for them to want to breed to your bitch?

Nope, I am not new to the area. Thanks for the input, though. It has been noted.

lol.............. been noted?  if you were in the area or in the groove- you would not have to ask this question...........just my opinion..........

but .........I .so note IT as well..........lol!..............Still no answer to what your bitch brings to the table......................  just someone that is wanting to breed a bitch................ ?

JUST MY OPINION - IF YOU WERE SOMEBODY THAT  is working a dog ACTIVILY - YOU WOULD KNOW WHO  YOU MIGHT WANT TO BREED WITH AND YOU WOULDNT ASK THE QUESTION IF THERE WAS ANY - HIGH DRIVE-TITLED WORKING DOGS IN THESE STATES...........

IT FRANKLY IS INSULTING THAT YOU DON'T DO YOUR HOMEWORK...... CAUSE THERE ARE SO MANY IN GA, FL AND ALABAMA........!     HELL - Alabama has a WUSV participant - was in the top 30 in the WORLD.........................  ................ ..

So put up or shut up...............you have no clue........... you are in Florida - and there are awesome dogs in Florida - and frankly GA has some awesome studs.................  if you don't know who they are - YOUR BITCH DOESN'T NEED TO BE BRED..............

just my opinion.

rampage...if it's the ZWENJA bitch you're looking to breed, then i'd say you have some decent studs not too far away, try the local clubs in atlanta(south metro, greater atlanta, chattahoochie, rising star)just give them a visit or call and see what's available, since your bitch is already 4-4 on fero, maybe an outcross is an option...a bit farther away(but a good option) may be ATZE VOM SHATTIG GEHOLZ ,or his excellent son PONGO VOM HUEGLEBLICK(THE PONGONATOR)it seems that you're looking to overcome the "softness" in your bitch...might happen, might not...i'll take a"compliant" bitch anyday over a knothead..but you may want to seek out a stud that overcomes this issue consistantly(find him and let me know where he is)we always try to find that super stud that will give us the pups we like and thats a worthwhile endeavor, but don't cross out those males that may not be sch-3.....the dog for your bitch may be a 1 or 2,police dog,s&r or sch-0...if the dog shows you what you like, with proven progeny then that may be the stud for your bitch...surely you'll want hips/elbows,bloodwork,ect.,proven ability, resilence, trainability, temprement and so on...there's a trial this comming weekend at greater atlanta..maybe you'll see something you like there.as i mentioned before, you've got enough FERO and things tend to get weird when that goes to a MINK or CROCK dog,(unblanced size, rangy, handler aggression issues) or course the same could happen with too much GILDO(when mixed with linebred fero dogs)and i would personally not add a linebred"TIMMY V/D BOSEN NACHBARSCHAFT" stud to the mix...but the choice is yours...check out the entries for last years south east regional..maybe you could key in on something you like...good luck in your search and keep us posted.

Thank you Ost See!

I keep thinking about some of the dogs in Atlanta, but don't know anyone to put my foot in the door. Unfortunately, we're a military family and driving to Atlanta this weekend isn't an option. In fact, driving anywhere on short notice is hard to do (which stinks). That is another reason I was looking to stay in the FL/GA area.

I am not stuck on SchH titled dogs only. If the perfect stud came along with no titles, I would be okay with that LOL. Also gotta agree that even a hard male won't guarantee hard pups, but it's better than breeding her to a soft male and praying to the heavens above, LOL. I'm being too hard on her anyhow. She's not super soft. She was a bit soft when she was younger, but in her 2 year old year has really come out of her shell. I'm amazed at the change, to be honest. She's become a bit hard headed and overly confident, but I love it. However, if something goes wrong I still don't trust her to stay on course. I will always worry about that with her.

The West German WL are really my cup of tea. I've loved every one I've had the pleasure to meet and/or work with. Keeping these bloodlines would be ideal to me, but I'm not firm on that. At this point, the temperament and drives is more of what I care about. WG lines would just be icing, but at the same time I don't want any close line breeding. Realistically, to get everything I want and avoid close line breeding, I'm sure I'll end up going with a Czech or East German bred male.

My biggest issue is finding a good male (at a distance) where I can see video and proof of workability. I really want to SEE the dogs in action and not a lot of owners seem to have videos. I am just very, very picky. I want it all ... good hips and background, good drives, good bloodlines  but who doesn't? I'd rather not breed her at all if I can't find just the right male, though.

Again, thank you for posting those males. I will check into them. I'll also grow some balls and call the Atlanta club and see if anyone there can give me some leads.
