this would be a 2-2 inbreeding, closer than allowed by SV. The closest they allow is 2-3. However, AKC allows it and closer (father/daughter, mother/son), depends on what you're looking for I guess. I wouldn't do it, or buy a pup from such an inbreeding.

That is not a "silly" question but a good one and you are wise to question such a tight cross. Molly nails it on the response.
Please continue to ask your "silly" questions - it's the only way to learn! Someone else may be wondering about the same thing, and afraid to ask at the risk of sounding dumb.

I actually had no intention of buying a dog from this breeding. I just enjoy doing pedigree researches! :-) I have the Breed Standard Software, and enjoy inputting them into my database. :-) It's a hobby! But thank you for the input...and you to, SB! :)

if the breeder knows what he is doing there is no problem in 2-2 also.
Sometimes it is purposely done to get the right traits and strengthen the bloodlines.

I agree with Vikram.

2-2 linebreeding in Germany is allowed, if the SV grants permission prior to that breeding! It is rarely if ever done!
