Hey gang... which companies here in the US will make custom aluminum dog crate inserts for vehicles?  Hubby and I just bought a new Honda FIT and we need to convert this into a two dog hauler.  The back is not big enough to fit two 500 series crates so we would pay for a custom fab job.  I know there's a company in Germany that can do it but the shipping cost adds a lot to the price.

I know this will not be cheap but we're going to have this car forever and it gets super gas mileage so we want to make this work.  If you know of some companies please send me a PM or an email.  Thanks!

Yvette, another option if you have any available, is to check in with any aluminum fabricator shops in your area. Most businesses can custom fabricate tons of stuff, so getting some custom crates made that way could be a less expensive option for you (esp for saving on the shipping costs).

Mind you, those Kustom Krates look fabulous....not cheap but I bet from the looks of them they are worth every cent if one has the cash for them.

With the economy down and out a post on craigslist may not hurt for this.  There are a ton of extremely well skilled craftsman looking for work.

Bill at www.policek9equipment.com does a lot of custom work and also does take-outs for law enforcement and government agencies so he generally has a good quanity of used units.
