Most of the time there is a skeletal freeze at one year of age. But my son has a female that grew more after two years old... guess that doesn't help alot, but maybe some.

Don't hold me to it but I believe they continue growing and filling out up to the age of 3 years.  For height, it's been my experience that they usually have their adult height by the age of 24 months.

it seems the gsd's grow upto an age of 3 years to their fullest, both height & length. i had the same doubts & discussed it with a breeder in australia. they suggested that some dogs take upto 4 years to mature in terms of their height & length proportions.

Ive asked the same question, and now ive found the answer for my dog, at 12 months you no what height you will get in height. They fill out after but never grow any more in height. They are all different but 12 months is a good measure.

It might be helpful to ask the breeder of your male (or the person who owns the sire and dam) at approximately what age their dogs reached their max height/weight.  Also some bloodlines tend to mature a little earlier and some a little later.  Like children there is almost no hard and fast answer, but getting a history of your male's lineage might help as an estimate.

my experience is that at 12 months you know what you have. most dogs will continue maturing and filling out until about 3 yrs .old females tend to do so quicker than males. After 12 months any height growth will be very minimal. On males especially you see the additional thickness and masceline features even after age 2-3.
