I'm giving my pup all raw food and have only done it once a day. All of a sudden she seems a lot hungrier after 2 lbs of thawed raw frozen food. She's nearly 9mos old, a little on the thin side, but it's hard to tell unless she goes swimming cause she's a long coat. I've only fed once per day since I got her. Someone told me that you should always feed twice per day. With very young pups even as much as 3x per day. What do you think?

Starting from the day when they are separated from the mother I feed my pups 4 times a day until they are 4 months old, 3 times a day until 6 moths  and after that 2 times a day. There is daily quantity of food each pup should get so divide it by 4,3 or 2 meals. Once a day, larger quantity is hard on digestive system. So, smaller quantities several times a day.

i feed my 3 yr old dog twice every day. its suits me as the dog doesnt seem too hungry after the feed or underfed. once a day would not be advisable as kenan said that it is difficult to digest the whole food if given once a day & a heavy quantity.

Young puppies need to be fed numerous times a day because they can only eat so much and their bodies burn it off quickly.. the can become hypoglycemic and become ill if they are not fed multiple times..

I have always fed my litters 3 times a day and 3 times a day up until about 12 - 14 weeks, then we go to 2x a day for the rest of their lives.....

great advice from everybody here.  We feed our adults twice a day, puppies more often.

Pups 3X per day until 5 or 6 months, then free-fed (I feed kibble, so no concerns about leaving it in their bowls).

The dogs generally eat a light amount in the morning, a light lunch in the early afternoon, a moderate supper around 6:00 pm, and then a light amount before bedtime.  They handle free-feeding well and maintain appropriate weights and energy levels on their own.  I just keep their bowls full, and it seems that knowing that food is always available keeps them from gorging themselves.  Not something you could do with a Lab or other heavy eater, though - you'd wind up with a 200 lb. dog!

I feed raw(prey model) and feed once a day.  Pups from 8 weeks to 3 months get fed 3 times a day and 3-6 months get fed twice a day.

Could be having a growth spurt or something at that age as she's maturing and depends on what you're feeding too (is this a premade that you're giving her?). I worry a bit about feeding "too much" in terms of pounds so I try to mostly feed higher fat food like beef or pork instead of chicken or poultry to the dog that is my bottomless-pit-eating-machine (malinois). Of course he eats between 4-5lbs a day too, so he's a bad example :-)  Just feed more according to how hungry she is and the appetite will plateau again later. Mine seem to do that when the seasons change too. My GSD (20 mos) suddenly looks thin here lately but he was kibble fed until I got him and his body seems to be adjusting to raw now, so I've been adding an extra feeding a day until he levels out. 2 feedings a day seem reasonable plus if you're tracking as well, turn that or your training time into a another meal.

Being scared of bloat, I feed my 6 month old pup 4 times a day. In the  past though, I've fed only 2-3 times a day for same age pups and never had a problem.  Just feel better to be safe than sorry.

My pup is a gobbler though. His food dish is empty within seconds and I believe this is one of the things that is worrisome in respect to bloat. Any comment on that theory?
