HI
I AM A PROFFESIONAL DOG VENDOR FROM THE NETHERLANDS. I SELL LOTS OF DOGS WORLDWIDE, MAINLY DIRECTLY TO GOVERNMENTS. THEY USUALLY COME TO OUR SITE AND TEST THE DOGS PERSONALLY, WITCH WORKS FINE. REGULAR I ALSO HAVE GOOD PEDIGREED SPORT AND OR BREEDING PROSPECTS, TITLED AND UNTITLED, BUT SOMETIMES THE DEALING STOPS AT THE BUYING POINT DUE TO THE "TRUST"FACTOR. WHEN BUYING MORE DOGS I DO FLY IN (PERSONALLY OR MY STAFF) THE FIRST TIME, SO CLIENT ONLY HAS TO PAY THE FAIR FOR 1 PERSON AND THE DOGS, AND THAN WILL PAY DOGS WHEN HANDED AND ALL IN ORDER. BUT WITH 1 OR 2 DOGS THAT IS NOT WORTH OUR WHILE, ANYONE ANY SUGGESTIONS HOW TO DEAL WITH THIS?? I THOUGHT BEST IS TO ASK THE POTENTIAL UYERS THENSELVES.
THANK YOU
JASPER SCHOENMAKERS
WE DO HAVE CHAMBER OF COMMERCE NUMBER, DOD (USA ARMY) BLANK PURSAGE AGREEMENT NUMBER AND DUNN AND BRADSTREET SITE IDENTIFICATION NUMBER.

I have purchased several dogs from Europe from four different persons (and purchased a couple in the USA also). I now have someone that I absolutely trust in Germany. He has always been efficient, honest, and trustworthy. I find that I would almost rather buy whatever the person I trust has for sale than take a chance on someone I do not know who is offering a great dog for sale.
I like, and even appreciate, your request to know what would make people feel more comfortable.
What would help in my humble opinion:
References of well known persons in the GSD world community available for me to call or email.
Enough information on the dog within a timely manner when requested. Most people want videos, pictures, copies of the pedigree, copies of the A stamp or hip certification papers, information on progeny if any, copies of scorebook and show records. I have purchased some dogs on just a scan of the pedigree and a couple of pictures, and I have been very very happy with the dog. But it would be nice to have more information as well.
Timely responses to emails sent.
Reasonably regular reports on the dogs after purchase until such time as they are shipped.
Accurate reports on the quality, temperment, and training of the dog. Nothing is worse than getting a dog who is not as described or as promised. Like when I was told that the dog housebroken....there is nothing like cleaning up poop on all three levels of the house for three days, and thereby (DUH!) ascertaining that the dog has never actually been in the house before. And that's the LEAST upsetting misrepresentation of a dog I can think of.

I have had excellent results buying dog from Europe. My best advice is to go there and get to know people in person. Like any other business, buying dogs is best done face-to-face. What you see is what you get. You have the opportunity of having a health check done prior to purchase. (Never seen a crooked vet over there yet) Dogs, money and papers change hands. You have a great experience, save money bringing your new dog(s) home as excess baggage instead of shipping, form relationships with new friends. Everybody's happy.
Yes, I know some people will say "Its too expensive" and "I don't have the time" but when you figure how many years of enjoyment you plan to have with your new dog, and point to all the sob stories on this list, that argument doesn't hold up very well.
No one can know for sure which one is YOUR "heart dog" the way YOU can. There's no way to emmulate the thrill when your heart cries out "THIS is the dog for ME!" ...remotely. You'll never regret it, I promise.

This is the best way to work, a person with knowledge of dogs and knowledge of what you want can be of enormous help. See the dog, check in person, no pep talk from sellers, establishing facts on the spot, checking and making sure that the papers are ther etc. Such a person could act as a scout, visiting shows, suggesting potential purchase even before the dog is on sale.
