I was sold two puppies that have Urma as the sire of the litter. I have pictures of him but no pedigree. Does this dog exists???? I have seen many pictures with Urma written on them. Is it a photography company??? I still do not have papers on my pups and fear that I never will, someone PLEASE HELP!!!

Yes Urma is a photographer, perhaps the most popular of the GSD world. Is that what the breeder said the Sire's name is? I suppose it's possible, but???. Did you meet the sire, what's the Dam's name. It sounds like you didn't really do much homework before you handed over your money if all you got was the sire's name. Theres a few thousand dogs with pics saying "URMA" on them. Perhaps you should call your breeder and ask about those papers. If anything ask for the parents names and AKC#'s (if that's what papers you are expecting) you can also check with the AKC asking if a litter has been registered to those dogs. Good luck, I hope its not as bad as it sounds.

Cody - How old are the pups? Are they German imports? If you're waiting on papers from Germany, that can and usually WILL take several weeks if not a few months. They do not have them at 8 weeks like we do in AKC. And GSDFAN is 100% correct - you need to verify the actual name of the sire and dam.

NO JOKE  My dad bought from this breeder 4 years ago.  He has been in breeding GSD for over 20 years.  I actually found Urma, he does exists!!! However, I still do not have papers.  The dam was SuperStar Indira and the dam to the second litter was Rijeka.  I have also found these dogs.  I purchased these pups for my dad as a early christmas gift in November of 2006, the papers should be here by now!!!  The females were imported, but come on 6 months later and still no papers.  What makes me more mad than anything is that the breeder will not return emails or phone calls.  Also, his website no longer is running.  Will I ever be able to register these dogs?????

Okay, ONE Urma is not a dog; the one with photo credit for a few thousand excellent photographs.  I stand corrected.

Hee hee hee
