Hi Everyone,
What does it mean when the letter V is conected to a Schutzhund title. For example V-SchH3. Is it about the form in which the dog diplayed the task, the combined scores of all three tasks or a combinbation of both. Would really like to understand. Also, how hard is it for a dog to achieve this designation?
Thanks,
C

V as far as the SchH title refers to the score, no? The dog can be V rated in conformation but the scores also are rated by V, SG....

With regards to "v" = excellent, 286 points or better (schutzhund). In order to qualify for USA Nationals, you need a minimum score of 270 (285 - 270 points = sg or very good).

V rated SchH 3 dog means that the dog scored 286 or above. 286 out of 300 possible points.

CLC,
What V means, if applied correctly, is that the dog earned a combined score of 286 or better when it earned a Schutzhund 3 title. This is known as "excellent."
270-285 is SG (Very Good)
240-269 is G (Good).
220-239 is M (Satisfactory).
Below 220 is U or I for Unsatisfactory, or, Insufficient.

The last 3 responces are correct and if you see a dog V rated in the BSP this is fairly hard to get and these dogs yes are a cut above the rest or at least they have had some of the best trainers or a bit of both genes and excellent trainers to get them to that level

Thanks Guys
.
I figured it had to do with the score, but did not know totals for each scoring level.
So if a bitch earned a V-SchH3 rating at 22mos she would have to be pretty talented right?
