I just got my dog mated on 21st & 22nd of april. The lock lasted for about 15 to 20 mins each time. How do I make sure or is there anyway to make sure that the female would concieve? The owner of the bitch said that it would show in another 20 to 25 days that the bitch has concieved. I would guess thats very normal as the gestation period is only 2 months. Any advice?

Hi prasac, here is what i do : Watch your female closely. As the hormons kick in, there might a change in behavior seen. Such as increased foodintake, the bitch been extremly cuddly, nest building etc... I can tell on my female that she carrys, because the hair on her flanks will stick out sideways, everybody says that that is impossible, but i was right everytime. Have an ultrasound done at 21-24 day after the mating and you will know for sure. Good luck. Regards Ulli Dresbach

I have found that most females will remain somewhat swollon in the back. Also her nipples will start to be noticed. Not text book but what I have noticed

How is your girl doing, any news yet ? I know its only around 20 days yet, but if you are just a little be like me, i can hardly wait to get pregnancy confirmed !! Hope everything goes well.

no news yet! yeah i m a bit like u cuz i m curious abt the pregnancy myself & excited too! lets hope for the best
