Does anyone feed a raw diet to puppies? I feed raw to my adults, but I am not finding much info on feeding a raw diet to pups. Do I just feed them the same as my adults, just a smaller portion? Do I need to ad supplements for pups? Or does anyone know of a good site for feeding pups raw diet? Any info is much appreciated. Thanks!

I am also a raw feeder and that includes puppies. My puppies eat the same as my adults do just in smaller potions. When the pups are too small to crush the bones I smash them up with a hammer until they are able to crush the bone their selves.

I start them off with a mixture of buttermilk, flax oil, fish oil, molasses and raw hamburger. The hamburger/buttermilk ratio is 1 part hamburger 2 parts buttermilk. Then when they are fully weaned, I give one meal of crushed chicken wings, and 2 of the buttermilk. I also give "Structure" and "Hokamix" as supplements alternating with the 2 buttermilk meals. When they get a bit older I switch to 2 chicken wing meals and 1 buttermilk.
Another good site for info and products is- http://b-naturals.com/default.php
I get the structure and hokamix at

Hope that helps some.

Pups have high demands for bone and connective tissue, as well as chewing practice. Chicken wings can be started as soon as they have an interest (and teeth) which is usually around 4 weeks. By 6-7 weeks they can chew the knuckles off of the thigh bones and drumsticks. I feed a broad array of raw meats and cooked ground vegetables to pups and adults. I also feed organ meats including green tripe and cultured dairy products for enzymes that help in digestion and assimilation of nutrients. Best Wishes, Jonah
