Each year our vet conducts a super chem blood panel for our dog. Each year the platelet count comes back much higher than the normal range, but the dog has no obvious health problems. One of the new vets suggested that this value maybe normal for her. He says that high platelet counts are related to adrenaline release. It makes sense as our dog has about 90% defensive drive and low threshold with that. she has a short fuse but is very forward with it. any views on this possible relation between drive (adrenaline) and blood platelet count?
