I don't know who exactly owns Vegas but this boy is producing like crazy in Germany. Several kennels seem to have litters out of him. Search Yahoo or Google and you will get several hits...good luck.

Forgive my ignorance, but why is this dog so popular? The rear angulation is so steep it looks like the dog is walking uphill. To each his own, I guess.

triodegirl: Don't they all? I think is just a bad photo. Do you prefer American showlines? I sure don't. See great photos of Zamp, Quantum, Orbit, Pakros, Dux, Quenn, Odin & Vegas at: kastanienwald.ro/2006.htm See spy video of Pakros & Vegas shot 9/27/06 at: video.google.com/videoplay?docid=8675341305065362857

This boy is awesome! I got to see him in person, everyone around stopped and admired as he gainted by. His gaint drives me crazy...just like Pakros. I have no problem with his angulation...I love it.

He is the best build dog there is,middle size, just curious or he will do the courage test this year a bit better, he did not bad last year ,but he did not convinced me

With all due respect to Vegas, I still think his back end is too low and his front legs seem to stretch out too far in front of him. Maybe his gait is too much of a good thing and looks a bit un-natural. But then as others have pointed out, maybe you need to see this dog in person. Or maybe (most likely) I'm totally full of crap LOL In any event, I'd much rather see Vegas flying through the air in a protection video than prancing around a show ring.

Why is Vegas so popular in Germany and Europe? Because many realize that he IS the FCI standard in a German Shepherd. When you see him standing, walking, pacing or gaiting, you witness perfection in confirmation. When he was shown as a young dog, folks went crazy ringside. Many said they had never seen a more perfect young GSD. When he matured he maintained the same top quality and filled out. His pigment and class make him one of the very best GSDs ever bred or shown. To date his producing has been outstanding. This places him in the top 1% of zuchschau competition GSDs ever bred in West Germany. There have been many great looking GSDs, but only a small proportion of them are top producers. Nobody gets a GSD of this quality for less than 50k in US dollars even as a young dog. If one Breeds his(her) best bitches to him properly they may be able to get this kind of quality for a modest fee. That is why he is such a popular stud dog right now. True quality begits quality.
