I do both . OFA is a decent opinion , Penn Hip will state the laxity . I have seen an OFA fair with a .28 . and an OFA Good with a Penn Hip .35. So most vets will give you a discount if you do both. I believe breeding dogs with tighter hips will help improve the breed. Although it can be a challenge to find a vet that are qualified to do Penn Hip.

OFA allows and has on their site health information for a person to check on dogs but PENNHIP does not..

Some people claim that Penn puts unnecessary stress on hips, but they are looking for laxity.
combine whichever one with sibling/background info for a better idea.
a passing grade of 1 dog from a litter with many fails is very different from a passing from a litter with many passing.
