I wanted to try to raise awareness to AB 1634, the mandatory spay and neuter law for dogs 4 months and older that just passed assembly in CA. I'm no lawyer but I encourage everyone to critically consider the bill. Its only CA, but it could just as well be your state. If you feel inclined please call your representative, log your opposition online and petition. Honestly, I'm not trying to debate. I want this in open. The people supporting this bill, I feel, are sneeking it through. It DID pass assembly but has a ways more to go. Some resources are below. http://www.ab1634.com/ http://www.saveourdogs.net/

I just found the other 1634 post, so I apologize for starting a new thread.

Gilbert, Better to be warned twice then miss it completley. The fact is passed assembly is scary.

This is a joke, worry about spay but not regulating the quality of food.

There are a lot of CA breeders who are well organized and fighting this very, very bad bill. I also know of many from other states who are uniting to contact Levine's office in an effort to demonstrate why this bill will never do what he thinks it will. Levine seems to be somehwat of a loose cannon whose goal is to have his own person window into the lives of all residents of the state of CA. Who knows that he may have the aspiration to become President of the US one day (as if it's not enough that we already have one incompetent to contend with now). Best to try to put an end to his grandstanding. IMO it would behoove all dog breeders to join up with some of these breeders, strength in numbers. Forget the SV vs AKC thing....it will affect all dog breeders in the US if it passes.
