This is NOT a recognized show color in the breed nor would it produce the correct coat! Nevermind the fact it's posted by a German Shepherd kennel.

I am moving this thread from our scam forum to our main as there is no scam as far as I can see also altering the title. If you read the ad it clearly states this is not a standard color so up front and honest in my opinion. Also there is NO reason a GSD breeder can't also own and advertise French Bulldogs!!!!! I myelf had Cocker Spaniels along side my GSD!!
Below is from the classified you posted about
**********"He is average in size and meets most of the frenchie standard besides the exotic color. "*************

We have these problems on both sides of the Pond, Covid 'lockdowns' have probably been a factor. Greeders are all over this market.
What worries me is that probably this breed will end up experiencing the health problems like we've seen in dilute-colour GSDs, because if you breed extensively to supply odd coats or colours you are not breeding for other factors, and eventually this weakens the stock.

We may not like it but they are not breaking the rules of this site. Feel free to complain and debate but that's all that can be done at the moment.
The OP claimed scam which it is not.

I could have sworn this database was creating for purebreds. Well. Chocolate & tan nor black & tan French Bulldogs would be purebred.

Acceptable colors: white, cream, fawn (ranging from light fawn to a red fawn), or any combinations of the foregoing. Markings and patterns are: brindle, piebald, black masks, black shadings, and white markings. Ticking is acceptable but not desired. Brindle ranges from sparse but clearly defined black stripes on a fawn background to such heavy concentration of black striping that the essential fawn background color barely shows through (“black brindle”). Only a trace of the background color is necessary; in a brindle piebald, a trace of the brindle patterning in any patch is sufficient. All other colors, markings or patterns are a disqualification. Disqualifying colors and patterns include, but are not limited to, solid black, black and tan, black and white, white with black, blue, blue fawn, liver, and merle. Black means black without a trace of brindle.
Therefore - that dog shouldn't even be offered for stud services.
*Acceptable colors include: fawn; brindle; fawn and white; brindle and white; and any other color that does not constitute a disqualification.
Any colors not noted in the standard, to include, but not limited to, black, black with fawn markings (black and tan), all dilutions of black, mouse, liver, all with or without white.

No Diamondgal, MrDarcy is right. There is no 'scam'; the advertiser is being upfront about what they are offering - the services of a stud dog who is likely to produce non Standard coats & colours in any resulting offspring. Breed Standards (belonging to AKC or otherwise) are not the Law.
While the advertiser, and those associated with them in the production of ever more weird colours, and ever less purebred dogs, are relying on the ignorance of the buying public to not know this isn't correct for the breed, there is nothing stopping those buyers from educating themselves. Easy enough to look the breed up ! If they still want to buy these dogs because they like the look of them, there's not a lot anyone can do about it.
If you want to get into why the contents of ads are not 'policed' for crimes against PDB's ethos ... well, would you like to volunteer to sit reading and rejecting ads all day ? Nothing else to do ?

Thank you Hunmutter.
The dog I see in the ad is a French Bulldog, if it's an unacceptable colour and the KC has given this dog registration I suggest you take that up with them.......good luck with that.
If it's the fact it is being offered at stud then I suggest you take it up with the owner/advertiser
This site is for registering pedigreed/registered dogs which I believe this dog to be. If for one minute any classified here broke the rules of this site it would be gone but this one does not so please stop trying to somehow blame this site for allowing this ad.

Once again - the breed doesn't come in black & tan. Therefore - just like the Labradoodle, HOW do you get a dog in color that is genetically known in the breed? Easy - you cross it with one that does!
So to charge $10k & up for a mixed breed with hung papers IS A SCAM - PLUS HIGHWAY ROBBERY.
So - NO - THAT DOG ISN'T PUREBRED.

That dog is AKC reg so if you have an issue with that take it up with them.
