Hey guys, Help me out here - how much food (dry kibble) do you feed a puppy(8 weeks old) - if on dry food and 1/4 cup meat? Need your advise - do not want to feed to much or too little. He gets fed 3 times a day - If I remember correctly it is: 3/4 dry kibble to 1/4 cup fresh hamburger is that right? Thanks so much in advance.

I think that sounds about right. Just watch to see if he looks to be gaining to much weight, they are all different with activity level. I know my pup has days she isn't so hungry and days she seems hungry all the time. I figure it has to do with her growing, kinda like kids.

Thank you Trailrider. My good friend and family just received a beautiful little boy. I was hoping I told him right - I tried to look back on my journals that I kept with my last 5 GSD's and I journaled everything except amount. Your great thanks and if you can contribute to "what vitamin" do you think.......I gave all my GSD's Therelin - but they stopped making that.

Renz I feed pretty much a RAW diet so not sure what to advise you on for a mulitple vitamin. Most people just feed a good quality dog food and go with that. I think the fact your friends are adding some fresh meat is great!

A male puppy @ 8wks should be growing 2-3 lbs a week. Less than that, feed more. More than that, feed less. Of course, health is in the eye of the master, as they say. The growth slows down at 7 months (not 6 as some people mistakenly suggest) and that's when you should probably switch to a lower calcium food.
