I just thought that dog deserved to be in the VA class. For the people that were there please comment.

I forgot to say that for the people that were at the USA 2007 sieger show.

The judge commented the reason he did not award Kenzo a VA was because he was returning to Germany. This ended the VA group.

Dog1, just curious as to why he couldn't VA if he was returning to Germany, is there a rule?

No there is not a rule. Some of the VA dogs have already returned to Germany from that show. Also when Bazi took the WDA Sieger Title is was known that he would return to Germany soon after. The only rule is "It is up to the judge on who he awards a VA title to" Carl

The judge can award a VA rating to any dog that meets the requirements. The sieger show is a breed show where the dogs have a chance to show themselves and offspring to those interested enough to attend. This year was the first year that the majority of the VA dogs are dogs that will remain in the US and can contribute to the breed here in this country. The theory is that the VA ratings should go to dogs that will remain in the country where the ratings will be used. The judge did an excellent job selecting the VA group with diverse blood lines that will remain to influence the breed. In the past some dogs were imported just for a few days to participate and hopefully return to their native country with a VA rating. That doesn't do the breeders much good when a VA position which should indicate a dog that's worth a second look to breed to is given to a dog that's only there to get a rating. I hope this answers your question.....

But Yappo von der Kahler Heide is staying in the states.

Think this dog was not really in the best condition. Seems to me that he was not as firm as before, also the pigmentation should be more pronounced.
