Koots

Icon is 4.5 months old now, and I thought it would be fun to take a slo-mo vid of his gait. He moves a bit different than my other dogs at that age, and I think it's partly because of his longer legs.

I LIKE this puppy !

Thanks Hund, I'm kinda partial to him too, lol. To my very untrained eye, he has good movement for a youngster of that age and growth stage.

Koots, you know I want/need a TALL dog. You go ahead & grow & train "Mr Long Legs" up, & then I will make the long trek to get him. Just teasing you. I know he is your special little star. ;)

If you can convince Jason Momoa to stud out Icon's brother (from first litter) then you could have your own 'long legs', lol.

Nah, the Jason Momoa angle will never work. I don't want a puppy. *oh well*

Like him. Looks good for his age. Only thing I noticed is looks a little weak in pastern area but nice reach and drive from rear angle. Can you update soon. Front & rear next time.

Western Rider

When looking at the video (many times) I was looking closely at the front end movement.  I broke it down like I would a horses movement.

Either the shoulder movement was restricted or pasterns weak.

The video was just not long enough for me to decide.

Could be the age of pup or the terrain he was running on.

Looks to me like a combination of the two, WR. Icon is running slightly downhill; and it could well be laxity in the pasterns given that he's still under 5 months old. I like the fact he seems to have equally good forward propulsion (see how I avoided 'drive' ?!) in his front and his rear, something that's getting rarer. But you are quite right about the vid being too short.

All I see is puppy loose with stuff that will likely firm up with maturity, I guess you could call it a "wet" puppy. But nothing I'd be worried about.
