This is a perfect example of what I am referring to in my other post regarding amping up dogs for sport. It is for show. I am not criticizing the dog, but rather, the training. If this dog is going to be titled in IGP, this type of training is required to satisfy the judges and get points. IMO, a dog needs to be trained to have controlled aggression and learn to think and control his drives while learning how to fight vs. going crazy for a sleeve. The flash can be in primary and secondary (protection) obedience and that requires a lot of correct training and has nothing to do with diminishing a dog’s civil aggression if it is there genetically. IGP is primarily an obedience sport in all three phases. The pressure put on the dog is patterned and pseudo pressure.
