Results of the working males as I have them. (That means they're not official) Cat no. 58 VA-1 Teejay von Wilhendorf 19 VA-2 Naxos vom Holtkaemper See 38 VA-3 Andrjuscha van Noort 31 VA-4 Liedo vom Kuckucksland 55 VA-5 Hombre vom Essweilertal 2 VA-6 Nick vom Altpoertal 59 V-1 Kenzo von der Rohburg 12 V-2 Yappo von der Kahler Heide 53 V-3 Gorbi vom Kirchenwald 43 V-4 Dito van Noort 24 V-5 Saro aus Agrigento 37 V-6 Zasko von Salerno 48 V-7 Xoltan vom Haus Brezel 4 V-8 Mad Mexx vom Wolf's Canyon 18 V-9 Panzer vom Mittelwest III 3 V-10 Brady vom Kirchenwald 29 V-11 Andy vom Bullinger 42 V-12 Vito vom Farbenspiel There was a pre-event rivalry between to extremely competent breeders/competetors we have seen become good friends over the years. Both Hoss and Teejay were preparing their group hoping the group would be the deciding factor as both dogs were top contenders for the Sieger title. Both groups were impressive. Hoss' group had quality, consistency, and an excellent dog in the working class. Teejay's group had number, quality, and consistency. The judge commented that Teejay had the best looking group. Andrjuscha's group contained the 12-18 sieger and siegerin out of 8 in the group. Very impressive. His performance on the field was one of the best. He's being bred extensively in Germany and has always been a stunning looking dog. In the closing moments before the class began, there was no Hoss in the ring. The feeling this year was there would not be so many VA's awarded at this show as there have been at some others in the past. It was announced in the female class that no more than 15% of the class would go VA. Would it be the same for the males? Without Hoss in the class, this enhanced young Nick's chance to go VA as a young dog his first time in a sieger show. In the critiques the judge commented in some respects, Nick was better than his father. In the end I believe the VA group was well received. The judge commented he initially did not think the results would be as they they were but the progeny group convinced him which dog to award the sieger title to. When all components of the dogs are considered, show record, performance, presentation, production, Teejay was the clear winner. There simply was no other male in the class that had all the components in one package. Naxos was placed high at this years sieger show and has many breedings in Germany. A well deserved place for a VA1 Zamp son. Andrjuscha performed flawlessly throughout the competition. He was a definite contender for a top spot. He's one of the few Hill sons carrying on the Mutz line. I expect we will continue to see his impact on the breed in this country once Walter brings him home from Germany where he is breeding more than many VA males. The judge acknowledged he had misgivings awarding a dog from his kennel a VA position. He felt justified based on the working ability Hombre displayed on the protection field. I heard one helper called him a 'Hammer.' I think more than one spectator saw the look on one the helpers face as Hombre came up over the sleeve for a face to face bark and hold. This is the first time I have heard of a dog's performance affecting it's position. Personally I would like to see some sort of performance grade factored into a dog's final position. The simple pass/fail where a 'D' performance equals an 'A' performance is a little lacking for me. I'm convinced as soon as working ability is recognized. Breeders will breed for it, more trainers will learn to train it and there won't be as many show/working discussions on the internet. There were many more notable notes in the male class. I'll continue with the female class.

Working females: Cat. No. #61 VA-1 Kelly von der Zenteiche #84 VA-2 Tendrina de la Ferme Malgre L'eau #66 VA-3 Fendi von Wilhendorf #85 VA-4 Nicoll von der Ochsenfurt #76 VA-5 Feli vom Dreieichenbuckel #64 VA-6 Alina von Quarin #88 V-1 Tyra vom Wilhendorf #90 V-2 Fila vom Blossom Land #80 V-3 Natasha vom Mittelwest #100 V-4 Mia vom Haus Brezel The siegerin, Kelly von der Zenteiche has been one of my favorite dogs since I saw her the week before the 2005 German sieger show. Congratulations to the Zenteiche kennel and team for their third US VA-1 female in recent years! Another outstanding Nero daughter giving Nero offspring the VA-1 spot in both the male and female class. We are fortunate there were some that were wise enough to salvage the Nero dogs in the face of adversity. Tendrina ran a close and consistent second to capture the VA-2 spot. Handled by the old pro from the Kahler Heide kennel who bred Tendrina's mother Wendrina. The quality of the dogs in this country continues to improve.

I had plans for a Kennel group and a Progeny group. The first cutoff two months before the show and the stiff penalty of 50.00 per dog for late entries added more to the total expense than I could justify. So, I bagged the idea and sold some dogs. I entered two this year. Cindy placed 4th with a very good critique under judge Carbajal. This was my second time showing under Ricardo and I thought he did an excellent job. His critiques were very detailed and he offered a great deal of information about the class and his decision to place the dogs where he did. I have absolutely no complaints with his judging and hope to see him again next year. I was not so fortunate with Fazer. He was a great looking 6 week old puppy and he looked superb at 4 months. I was very excited about showing him and thought he would be my best entry. Unfortunately he is going through a terrible growth stage and he looked awful. I was going to pull him, but though the show experience would be good for him regardless.

Dog1, your results for the working females are different than the ones Molly posted in another thread. Whose are the right ones?

Oops! I skipped number 67 Kira vom Schloss Weitmar who would be in the V-2 spot. Sorry Martha. Congratulations on your two VA's in the working female class and your 4-6 female siegerin!

I see my VA5 female differs from Molly's. I had catalog 76, Feli vom Dreieichenbuckel where Molly has catalog 75, Iffy Bullinger. Maybe someone can clarify the result.

Randy, according to my catalog Iffy Bullinger #75 was VA4. Is this incorrect? Your entry for VA4 was #76 so I may have entered incorrectly in my catalog. If so I apologize for my incorrect listing. molly
