RC is now involved in the food recall. You may want to double check which you are feeding him.

i feed shepherd 24 and i live in Canada so whewwwww

When this all started, All of the manufactures could have had their food LINES tested to be sure. They knew, they were taking in products from china. It would not have cost them much to just take samples and test. Instead, they all made statements, THEIR PRODUCTS ARE SAFE, WE ARE NOT INVOLVED IN THE RECALL.

Add 2 tablespoons of canned pumpkin daily, will take a few days to get him regulated but should help firm up the stool and make happy to have it added, my dogs love it and turn their noses up at their food if i dont add it. Kari

If he is just a pup I would start with doing a fecal test at your vet to rule out parasites. Coccidia can cause loose smelly stool.

69RS Many things can cause runny stools. As VBK9 recomends, get some stool samples. I would not stop at one either. You need to take a close look around at what he might be getting into. Years ago I had a litter that would have runny stools for a short while, then be fine for a few days and back and forth. It drove me nuts until I finally realized those little turkeys were drinking the soapy laundry water runoff. Make sure he is not getting into anything . Most important though, get some good fecal samples. Some things will not show up all the time. If he is exposed to contaminated water he could pick up Girardia (sp?) as older dogs have a stronger imune system to this and other problems. You might want to have all your dogs checked to make sure they arn't passing something around that might only manifest itself in the pup. Good luck

Just to add another possible cause, flax seed oil DOES and CAN also cause stool and intolorance issues
