We have received information that HSUS is planning a breeder raid for
the central Tennessee area, or surrounding areas, in the next several
days. They have been asking for volunteers able to foster around
120-150 dogs by next Wednesday, February 2. They are also asking for
volunteers able to take part in the raid. We have been told that the
raid will be in central Tennessee, but it could be in a surrounding
state close by (MS, KY, etc.). They often conduct these raids on
weekends.

Rescue groups are also at risk during raids such as these.

If you are a breeder with large numbers of dogs in these areas,
please take precautions. They may have already visited your property
to get probable cause for a warrant. At this point all you may be
able to do is remove dogs before they are seized. If you have reason
to think that you could be the subject of such a raid, please protect
yourself and your dogs. Have an attorney ready and remove dogs ahead
of time.

This message is only aimed at breeders with larger numbers of dogs
who may be targeted by HSUS in these areas.

Is this what the HSUS has resorted to doing with all the money that we contribute to them? Raiding breeders that are trying to do their best to breed good quality specimens of our breed? Instead of trying to sieze animals that are taken the best of care of why don't they concentrate on doing what they say they are doing with the money that is donated to them??? Makes me wonder. I shall never contribute again.

Garbage.  No one with that many dogs is trying to breed good quality specimens of anything; they're a puppy mill.  Maybe you support puppy mills; I do not.

Breeders that have clean proper facilities and arent millers should,nt worrry.

Bob is correct but do the math.  Let's consider the low end of the spectrum and say these people have only 120 dogs and then lets give them the benefit of the doubt and say that 2/3 of those are puppies from large litters...say, 10 pups a piece.  How many people would you imagine it takes to properly care for, feed, water, clean up after, exercise, provide mental stimulation for, train, etc. 80 puppies and 40 adults?

If you contribute to the HSUS you are an idiot.  Do you fully understand the premise of the organization?  They are against pet ownership of any kind.  They are against animals being used for food.  They are against animals being used for dairy purposes.  You will not be able to own a dog, cat, fish, bird, iguana, spider, snake, tortoise, hare, NOTHING, if they get their way.  If you believe that the only people who are at risk are puppy mills you are sadly mistaken.  Do your research.  Who decides where they will stop?  Apparently some of you think that the Spanish Inquisition was nothing more than a publicity stunt and a Monty Python skit.

Well said Keith Grossman !!!!  Sounds like someone on this website is protecting the puppy mills and calling them breeders !! they are not breeders they are garbage and they need to be stopped!!  The HSUS is not going to waste their time raiding a "Breeder"  that does not have a large number of dogs and.... real breeders have clean properties do not have large numbers.  The REAL breeders in this area should help the HSUS in these raids because one less puppy mill is good thing , they will probably never stop them but it will slow them down by hitting them where it hurts .... $$$$$$
Shame on anyone who uses this website to protect  these animal abusers !!!!

IN MY OPINION ALL PUPPY MILLS ARE NOTHING BUT HEARTLESS,CRUEL ENVIRONMENTS FROM WHICH MANY SICK AND DISEASED ANIMALS ARE BRED AND SENT TO MANY SO CALLED "PETSHOPS" A LOT OF THE MILLS COULD BE PUT OUT OF BUSINESS IF THE HSUS WOULD SPEND TIME TRYING TO GET THESE PLACES BANNED FROM EVER BEING ABLE TO PURCHASE ANY LIVE ANIMAL FROM ANYWHERE. THEN PEOPLE WOULD HAVE TO GO TO RESPONSIBLE BREEDERS TO BUY THEIR PETS. I WOULD NEVER BUY AN ANIMAL OF ANY SPECIES FROM A "PETSHOP"

I have bred Horses and GSD for over 35 years.  I am very aware of what it takes to care for the animals that I have.  I use to have more animals when I was younger.....but age does catch up with a person.  I have never had more animals then I could take care of "MYSELF" if I had to.  I had help when I needed it.  That being said......Animals need more then just food and water and shelter.  Imagine being stuck to your bed 24/7....but you have food and water...and shelter.  Is it clean?  Are you mentally stimulated.  Do you get the exercise that you need?  I believe in people having the right to having animals and breeding them.  I also believe that the animals have rights as well.  And those rights are so often over looked.  Its not OK to live in POOP.  Its not OK to be caged up 24/7 every day.  I think crates have their place don't get me wrong.  What I am saying is if you look out at the facilities that your animals are living in....and its filthy....you have to many animals.  People think the more room you have...the more animals it will hold.  How about sticking with....WHAT CAN BE TAKEN CARE OF PROPERLY?  I have room for over 30 horses....I have Four.  Clean their stalls myself.  I have room and kennels for over 20 dogs.  I have Three GSD and two Chihuahua's.  It takes work and dedication to give them all that they need.  I have witnessed way to many people with way to many animals....that defend their right to HAVE them, even though they are living in squawler.  There has to be a middle ground somewhere.  Do I want to be raided???  No.  But if I am to blind to see the cruelty of animals living on top of each other...maybe I need some HELP seeing the LIGHT!!!!
