For those who want to keep up with Zambi's training may do so at http://germanshepherdlitters.com/modules/userpage/index.php?page_id=1 (Copy the URL and paste it onto your web browser) If you scroll all the way to the bottom you may view Zambi's old protection video and NEW protection video. (all in a 1 video) Please let me remind you that Zambi doesn't get a whole lot of protection training done, Don't judge too hard on her. I made it my personal choice to only work her with experience and certified helpers, so her protection work may not excite some of you guys.

Well Brittany you put it out there. Good for you. More than some of the blow hards. I'm not going to be harsh on your dog. But I going to give you some shit. Don't take it personal cuz I always give the handlers shit, it's never the dogs fault. You need some work on your leash control and For God's sake, STOP JERKING YOUR DOG AROUND ON THE CARRY!!!!!!! I was about ready to pull my hair out. Your dog keeps spitting the sleeve out and giving up on it during the carry. It's because you are correcting her. The carry is supposed to be her winning, confidence building time. It looks like you are trying to make her heel while he is carrying. She can't gain confidence if you are correcting her. Bravo for having the guts to put it out there. Now when people start talking shit don't talk back, you showed yours, let them show theirs.

Here Here, I mean good for you for doing the work yourself and for putting it out here !! I can't view it all that well my puter hates video, still on dial up. and so far we have only videos of pups that were purchased from us on the internet. I think it's very admirable your not affraid to show your work. And for anyone even thinking on ripping on you, just ask them if they were perfect they're first time around. :-) Get A Real Dog, My husband does the same thing... jerking on the leash in the carry drives me insain and I do pull my hair out, cause everytime he jerks the dog spits out the sleeve. arrrrggghhh. Oh well he will learn too, He has improved some already. Keep up the good work Brittany Woman. (hoping to make up for the girl thing) :-)

Get A Real Dog, Nah I didn't take your comments personal :) I thank you for correcting me on my handling :) I will remember this the next time I do protection work with Zambi. I do appreciate you for giving me shit lol. Giving handlers shit is good.. You know what would be a great invention? To create E collars for humans, YES! E collars for humans so when the handler does something wrong, rather than scream... you give 'em a ZAP. This will save A lot of dogs from being ruined from inexperienced handlers. Another good thing that will come out of this is that the handlers would learn fast and quick after the correction :) Thanks again.

EchoMeadows, You might need to update your web browser. If your currently running an older computer, that might be the cause of your problem. Yes running the video on dial up is not in favor, as this video is 76.7MB in size. If I try to lessen the size, the video quality would become very poor. You would be waiting for this file to finish all day on dial up :( I assume your living in the country sticks huh? I hope everybody starts making videos and posting them up on the net. Not everybody (like me) could afford to go to Germany to see these famous dogs work in BSP (and WUSV) and shown BSZS. This would benefit so much for this beloved breed. People should not be afraid to show their work... If they make a mistake, somebody will correct it, but you must accept criticism and demolish the stubborn behavior.

Good for you for getting out there and having fun with Zambi! Shoot, don't tell my TD about your e-collar idea on the handler, he might decide to do that on me :) I work way better for food, LOL

Good for you Brittany !! go out there have fun training your female . Many others send their dogs out to be titled and trained . You will know so much more about your dog good bad and indifferent :) If your dog seems to be bothered by the tugging on the collar you may want to try a harness see if that will make her more comfortable. I myself have a young female she is turning 10 months old this sunday :))I prefer the harness with her she pulls into the collar to hard I been in the sport for some time and still having a blast :) if you like you can check her video clips out on her page . Her name is Cobra :)http://vomrheinland.com/cobra.html Pia

Domenic: She's keeping the line too short and tight, she should let it out about 6 ft., like she wants her to gait with it, not like she's trying to make her heel next to her.

by Domenic on 20 April 2007 - 14:04

AHHHHHHHHH,got ya,i guess 1 of these days i'll have enough experiance to make those kinds of observations.Thank you GSDfan
