New Working Line Pup!! - Page 1

Hello Everyone, I have recently purchased a solid black male pup to work, he has DDR, west german working, and czech lines. I have always owned West German line dogs, and I feel that I am heading in a different direction, one that I am enjoying very much.:) I am also on a waiting list for a DDR female pup, I am trying to understand their pedigrees, how exactly do you know for sure if they have DDR lines, I have noticed that some dogs in their background have SG/VA titles, is that common for ddr dogs, I also noticed that some but not all dogs have DDR by their names, why do some and not all have that? Anyway I am very knew to the east german dogs and was looking for some helpful info on how to read their pedigrees. I understand that the pup I purchased is not FULL DDR, the female I am waiting for is supposed to be pure, so I was just trying to do some research. I am by the way thrilled with the pup, I couldn't have asked for a better pup. His substance, drives, color, and temperament are very stisfying for me. Thank you all for any info!! Elizabeth

HI Elizabeth, The DDR not being beside the name in the pedigree does not mean that the dog is not a DDR descendant but rather the dog was born after West and East Germany were reunified. The DDR being beside it should signify that the dog was actually issued papers in East Germany. If you go to Noble Heritage on my www.ddrlegends.com site it will give you some idea of how they came about.

OK I was on there looking at the dogs the other day, and I noticed that my pups parents are on the photo gallery. Thank you, now it makes sense!! duh! I looked at the site the other day but I did not get a chance to really research it, but I will. Thanks again! That really is a great site!

Willow, What are the parents names? Are their peds., in the database?

Yes they are, Sire: Wolf von der Hausmaul Dam: Gundavon riverhaus This is the names of the black pup I have now, I have some names of the female pup I will be getting later on her parents are not in the database but some ancestors are.
