Please check out our new dog that we purchased Ulk vom Altenberger Lands bitework video and let me know what you think. It's rather short but you can get an idea. You can see it here:

and I already posted his pic and pedigree but here it is again:

Good prey dive,. But when pressure is shown he chews. With that being said he is very nice dog.
looks like he has enough to make a title. not enough to make a competion dog. nice looking dog.
I think hes nice and his bite work looks nice too.
workingdawg, What makes him not a competition dog? Can you please explain?
Bravo for puting up some video. You get my respect just for doing that. I wish more people would show what they have.
I don't really pay attention to show line stuff so as far as that goes can't really judge compared to what you would be competing against. Working lines it's like apples and oranges.
With that said, You dog is very good looking. Doesn't seem to have the MC Donalds golden arches back. Decent prey drive, ok grip but does get chewy on the drive and that drive was not much pressure. Should have no problem getting Sch titles as long as he can jump.
I am assuming you bought him for show and fun, club level bitework, not to make it to the nationals. I think you should be quite succesful in that.
Kudos again for having the guts to showcase what you have. Hope he helps you accomplish your goals.

Seeing as I'm nothing more than an armchair quarterback, I'll leave the critues for the experts around here. But sure do love watching the videos and hopefully learning a little something. Thanks for taking the time to post it.
I was also just going to say - it's surprising (pleasantly surprising) just to see a video of the dog - I don't think many would "show off" the work of their show-line dogs. He did fine, the main thing is, you obviously have nothing to hide - good job, and nice dog.
molly
from what i see the dog is on a intermediate or puppy arm (bitebar is very big and thin)and he's bitting it O.K. The dogs entries into the bite are slow and seem to lack power. on all of the distance bites the dog seems to lack, once again, power into the arm. the barking, although it is continuious, it seems to lack power. look, the dog looks nice. he will make a title if the other two phases are as good as the bite work. in the bite work the dog looks better than about 90% of the dogs that entered the wda seiger show in 2006.
I enjoy showing off my show line dog, Zambi work abilities. I'm not one bit ashame of her, yet I have certain people here who enjoy bashing and calling Zambi names, but refuses to ID themselves and fail to show videos of their own dogs working ;/ I'm proud of kennels like vom Altenberger Land (Mr Norbert Schleuter) for uploading videos onto the net of their dogs. When I see show line breeders doing this.. I have confidence that they are proud of their breeding stock and I would be very comfortable doing business with them in the future because of their courage to post videos of their dogs working, especially in protection. I certainly wish that more showline breeders, like von arlett from Germany could do this.. Theirs certainly a lot of websites that will hosts up videos for free, such as Youtube and livevideo, so theirs really no excuse for showing off your breeding stock :)
If you want to see another good working show line go to http://germanshepherdlitters.com/modules/userpage/index.php?page_id=1 and view my Zambi's working ability. She has the right attitude and enjoys doing what she does. She LOVES going out to the field.
