I've been anxiously waiting for the televised airing of "A Man Among Wolves" on the national geographic channel tomorrow night. Most of you are probably aware of the broadcast, but in case someone has no prior knowledge and would be interested, the storyline centers on a researcher who raises abandoned wolf cubs and teaches them by example how to survive in the wilderness. Check this out...... http://channel.nationalgeographic.com/channel/manamongwolves/

I knew the day would come that my identity would be revealed on this site. Yes, I am the "man among wolves". I am taking the rest of the month of due to viral infections, worms and bad gas. Raw meat really does it to me.

Sounds too much like his 15 minutes of fame. Look what happened to the guy that "lived" with grizzlies in Alaska. Not to mention I'm on the side of the ranchers and hunters in the West where the wolf reintroduction is having negative imapct on wild life and livestock due to the reintro beating all expections for success and wolf numbers being so much higher then forcasted. JMO. :)

You have to live with the wolves to be the "man among wolves", Donny----and since you just told us your wolves are kenneled out back, well.....??? At least you didn't say "leader among wolves" or I might have to chime in another observation taken from your post on the other thread. (Just another "sheep in wolve's clothing", eh??) LOL (Couldn't resist) Get a Real Dog---Did you catch that video? Animules--You'll soften when you watch that video and see that 3-week cub singing a wolf's howl? How adorable is that?

I've read articals in working dog mag and this guy is helping us to understand our own friends. I saw him on 60 minutes last night and thumbs up to him for his commitment. We as people can go to the moon but don't know how to live with other creatures this wonderful world gives to us. Without wolves we wouldn't have dogs. The wolf man has already showen me things in training my shepherd and it works. As for the man with the bears, he should have known better, but men have trouble keeping it in and he didn't get the go ahead from top bear. What did he think when he took his woman there on the last night. We as people should learn to live with all creatures, as it stands now. We are the only animal that destroys without care, oh yeah maybe we really are just a virus, golbel warming is proof. Thank you to Shaun Ellis for the time you put into these wonderful creatures and helping us to understand them better. And am hoping with all you have done will help them survive with man into a full safe future. If people haven't heard of this guy, look into him. He is worth the read to understand your dog who was once a wolf, you will be amazed and learn alot. Thank God for people like this, even the bear man.:):)

I watched him on 20/20 Friday night, he says he plans on attempting to join a wild pack in the future! That I would definatley like to see. I think he is an amazing, brave person. I can't wait to watch it on Monday.

Damn. And here I was, wasting my time with "Call of the WIld", the 1993 version, with Ricky Schroder. Ah, well, it had a really nice looking GSD in the role of Buck, which was the only reason I watched it!

A lot of Alaskans had real heartburn with Tim Treadwell and his reckless disreguard for human and bear life with his attention seeking actions which had no basis in scientific method long before he was killed by grizzlies.  Many feel that Treadwell caused the deaths of his girlfriend Amie Hugeunard and the grizzlies that were shot and killed for attacking and eatting him.  He put his camp right in the middle of their paths along the fishing grounds the bears were foraging at.  He has been known to stand within touching of them, and I believe he actually has touched them.  They are wild animals, defending themselves and their territory from another aggressive creature that happened to be a man.  Many Alaskans feel that the grizzlies that were shot and killed after Treadwell's death, and Amie H., are the real victims.
