For those out there that have linebred on Aly or have a dog linebred on Aly, what traits or drives do you feel you have seen brought out?

My girl is linebreed 4-3 to Aly. I never saw Aly personally and it's hard to tell where traits originally came from - her parents are both great dogs. As far as I can tell right now (she is 7 months old), she has an awesome prey drive,  is very work motivated and focussed.

Great question!  I like what Aly has produced. Curious to see what the response is.

Aly has produced some of the best temperments around time and time again, for one produced one of the best producing females in modern times she was number 2 in the BSP and she produced Javir which was number 1 in 2008,I have pups for sale 4-5 on Aly and expect some great things out of them just like the dam which has high prey drives, high energy and ready to work,so Aly has proven to be one of the greats in being able to produce amazing dogs

I did a 3-3 breeding on Aly and it turned out PHENOMINAL!  Drive out the wazoo, OFA Excellent hips....looks!  The whole package!  Aly is very well know for his hip production and at one time had the lowest ZW score out of any German Workingline dog!

I am curious about something and not being an ass. Do you consider 3-3 or 4-3 linebreeding ? I am not saying ANYTHING about the quality of the pups or any silly shit like that, just seems a little light to me. Maybe 4-3, 3 (or any numbers you want from 5 down)

Sorry to crash the thread. Just wondering.

I could be wrong but I think the closest line breeding to SV standards is 2-3. So 3-3 is very close.  I have seen 2-2 breedings but that will be a different subject.

I think when history is looked back on in another ten years or so, Aly will be considered one of the great producers of sport dogs and great hips.

the breeding I am thinking about would be 4-5, so pretty far out. Just curious what others have experienced. Thanks for the responses. Their are alot of nice dogs in the pedigree that I am considering. This 4-5 on Aly was the only linebreeding.

He's on the German record as the greatest producer against HD of all time.

As a producer of top placing BSP competitors, he has fared as well comparitavely to any notable stud dog, even though he himself only placed 69th in his own year of BSP competition.

As far as linebreeding goes, I would venture to say that this is a dog that should be linebred upon, and closely at that.  Even if afterward, you find you must carefully select against some other negative hereditary characteristic.  Although I have no personal experience with him or his progeny, I would boldly state that this breed could use a lot more consistently good producers from his bloodline.
