Hello all! Just purchased this new male Ulk vom Altenberger Land. Here he is: http://www.pedigreedatabase.com/gsd/pedigree/477328.html He is still in Germany finishing up his titling. Any thoughts and opinions about him would be appreciated. Thanks!

Well I think he looks really nice and I wish I were you!

He is an eyecatcher and nice looking. My only problem is his back, he is roached and getting very close to a bananna back. But that's just my taste and opinion as apparently some people really like that look. If his drives and nerves are good you have a nice one!

Nice head, withers, pigment, and presentation. I do agree with DesertRangers about the back, as it is not my favourite physique for a GSD. But, that is a taste thing. It appears that his ancestors are top-notch with a history of good hip production. Anyway, if the temperament and drives are solid, I am darned envious. Bob-O

I have to agree with DesertRangers. I really like his looks except for his back area. I personally like the straighter back, the way they looked when they first came out. I don't mind a little angulation but for me he has to much, but like DR said, if he has good nerves and drive that is all that should matter to you. I'm just more of the working lines.

Roached??? Spoken like true working dog people. this dog has a gorgeous top line. He is far from "roached" or "banana" backed. He has nice withers and pigment and a beautiful croup. His neck could be a bit longer. That should be a consideration in bringing him to a female in the future. Super pedigree. Hope you have great trainers that will do him justice.

LOl Funny coming from a guy who recommended masturbating a male GSD who would not breed a female in heat. Then stating if the masturbation did not work then it was a problem. Some people would be better off just reading posts here and not writing any.

Now wagonmasterbator He asked for opinions and we all offered our own. Several of us made it VERY clear we are working line people and that the we all have our own taste and opinion. All you had to do was offer your opinion and I had no problem with whatever that is. But you had to be a smartass and be insulting. I like many showdogs and never just insult them as a group. But some I don't like, just as I don't like some workingline dogs.

Very correct proportioned and masculine head. Wide skull and good expression. Yes he does have a roached back. If the spine is arched anywhere it is roached. But the severity of the roach may look worse by the way the dog is stacked. Even some VA dogs will have an arched back. Its almost an accepted and overlooked thing now. He has nice deep red pigment. And again a beautiful head. Good luck with him.

Oh yea. And like Desertrangers said this is just my opinion. I am no expert. And I am a working line person also.
