Hi y'all - I just recently found a pretty good food at Petsmart for my dogs that has No wheat, No corn, No by-products; No artificial preservatives and also No beef in it - instead they have a yummy-sounding combo of lamb, cracked barley, and oatmeal listed as the first couple ingredients. I feed two cups twice a day to my 2 weiner dogs, and 4 cups once to my WG showline. They seem to love it, even though the stools on the doxies are a tad soft so we have to express their anal glands for them (harder stools push the musk scent out naturally) a small price to pay, I 'spose..... Anyways, I am happy with the fact that not only does it have quality ingredients, but it's a good bit cheaper than Nutro (about $20 for a 40 pound bag) and also that this food is Not Included in the recent Recalls! So, while I am very pleased & highly recommending of this food to anyone out there looking to get away from the "high end" crap food, I am also curious to hear what anyone else thought of this food, if they fed it to their dogs as well. Thank you all! Augustine

I feed this food to my dogs, a 77 lb female and an 89 lb male, and, shockingly, they are maintaining weight on 2 cups a day, plus a shared can of wet, at dinner, plus some hard-pressed lamb/rice roll and biscuits for breakfast and during the day off and on. They were gaining weight on 3.5 cups a day! I add skin conditioner so I don't know if they would be dry on it without that. I have noticed that my female's nose is dry these days, but that could be many things. I think I like what I see.

We have fed NR before and are back on it again for my growing pup. We were on Nutro Naturals and I couldn't keep feeding that after all of this food recall business. I tried Solid Golds Wolf pup but my dog ate it for 2 days then went on strike for 3. He did shove his face in my boyfriends bag of Sensible Choice. I wont feed that either, since it is made by RC and their foods have been suspect. So back to Natures Recipe because it doesn't have corn, wheat or byproducts and it is priced well compaired to other foods of the same quality. My puppy has been eatting it like he is starving twice a day since we went back to it. Anybody want a $45 bag of Wolf Pup my dog wont touch? LOL

I bit the bullet and bought a bag of Innova EVO, the price is staggering and I pity those of you with multiple dogs who feed this food. Yikes!! Sounds like Wolf Puppy costs around the same price - the EVO was $43 for 26.5 lbs. I think I could make a food from fresh organic ingredients for less that that price and probably should LOL. I'm not cheap about spending money to keep Blitz healthy, but IMO that is just outrageous for a bag of dog food. I think the smart thing to do is to stay away from any food that contains wheat.
