This is "Mia". Mia is 4mo old and is gorgeous. The bone on this pup is awesome. She has everything you look for in a working dog. Her food and ball drive is off the charts. She has very nice calm grips. I just hope her leg heals because she is showing signs of being a very nice working dog.
To me she looks to have a bit of DDR in her. What do you think?

Mia's mom was brought in as a stray and was pregnant and had 13 pups. Mia was adopted out at 8weeks and brought back because the people were moving (ya right) I believe it was because she was too much for them. I called about the mom because I heard that the shelter was a horrid place and kills 6000 animals a year. I went to see evaluate Sadie (mom) and she is a sweet girl. She showed no food drive or ball drive but has a very nice temperment. She has been at the shelter since 11-06. I told the shelter we would take her into rescue but not for a week and they said they would her. They then asked if I wanted to see one of her pups because she was just returned a few days earlier. I was expecting to see a mix breed but instead i saw a beautiful high drive very pushy pup.
The shelter did not put her up for adoption right away because they said she had food aggression. When Mia came out she made a beline for my pocket (treats inside) and tried to eat her way into my pocket. Mia has extreme food drive not food aggression. Her ball drive is off the charts and I had her sitting and platzing in a few min. for food and ball.
I asked the shelter if we could take her also and they said yes. While the shelter was holding the 2 dogs a volunteer was walking Mia and either the leash got tangled in her leg or the leash got tangled w/ the volunteer and fell on the pup breaking her leg. The guy was 70 yrs old. The break was clean and pins were put in w/ an ex-fix put on. The pins should come out in a few weeks. She should have a complete recovery.

More proof that not all GSD recuses are junkyard dogs.

Wow! What a stroke of luck for both dogs AND you! Mia looks to be a very pretty girl.
Definately a working dog.
Hey! She has already "taken down" her first "helper!!!"
LOL
Good luck and thank you for taking two nice GSD's out of harm's way.
God Bless,
SS
