My baby girl Daisy is in heat again. - Page 1

Daisy is 10 months and 1 week. Her first heat was at 6 months and 3 weeks (call it 7 months) she is ahead of schedule! First heat she didn't bleed just swolled up. This time she is bleeding not too bad so far only a couple drops. She isn't a fan of her diaper lol but she is dealing with it along with giving me evil looks since I put it on. I was planning on spaying her this month guess I have to wait till the heat is done 😁😄

I suggest waiting until she's 18-24 months to spay so she's done growing. She needs those hormones.

Reliya no I'm not waiting that long. When this heat is done I'm spaying her. I'll wait till 14-15 months. I have friends who have spayed 10 months, 1 year, 14 months and 15 months and the dogs were perfectly fine. They still grew properly and filled out properly.

I just love people who post on a forum and either directly or indirectly ask for help...advice...or just post which let's others read and respond...Then they don't try or listen to any of the advice from others who have quite a bit of experience...
Why would you even post something if you're not wanting some response...
To me when someone asks something...then gets some good answers and chooses to disregard all the responses...I loose my desire to help anyone any longer...
I remember being a newbie and wanting help...very few people would offer help...As if they were protecting their information with their lives...I didn't like that feeling and don't like "NOT" helping someone now...But it would be very nice for people to be appreciative and at least try something new...

Chase, keep a close eye on her. Having heats so close together can predispose the bitch to pyometra, as I found out last year!

I wouldn't spay her too soon after her heat, either, because the blood supply to the uterus will still be increase, thus increasing the risk of bleeding during and after surgery.

My 5 year old female GSD was spayed at 6 months of age on the advice of my veterinarian. She developed urinary incontinence in her second year and is now on Proin twice a day for the rest of her life which has fortunately taken care of the problem and hopefully will continue to. If I had it to do over, I would wait until age 2 years.

I would hope that people understand that not all vets are the same...They all do not have the same things to say that is good for your dog...I'm just saying that some vets would suggest you do something to your dog (a procedure) which is a money maker...And not necessary or every good for your dog...
You do as you wish with your dog...It's your dog...but maybe you should check around with different vets and get their input into what to do...
It sounds like you have already made up your mind and not wanting anyone's opinion or advice...Just investigate and find out what's the best for your girl...

Should have gotten a male...they don't come into heat and get blood on the floor.

But they do havenUts...my boys are proud of them, and get to keep them.
