Breeders, Just curious, what the weights of your puppies are when born.
I am assuming normal sized sire and dam according to the standard.
Thank you.

Our puppies average 1lb 5oz to 1lb 11oz....
sometimes larger..almost 2lbs....depending on size of litter.

Between 400 and 700 grams for me. 400 is normal and develops into a good size puppy/adult.

For me it is 450 grams to 600 grams.
Last litter they were all (7) between 470 and 550 gr.

I have had from 450-620g, my immediate first thought for an average birth weight (without doing any calculations!) would be 500g.

My last litter was probably around 400 grams....a little under a pound each, but it really depends on the size of the litter. The pups were very large IMO because there were only 4 pups. If she had had 12, that would be a different story - you are talking (sizewise) adult squirrels vs baby squirrels here!

Kennel von Lotta- Did the dam survive the 700 gram pups?! OUCH!

1 - 1 1/4 lbs. is fine. Anything under 14 oz. is worrisome, depending on the size of the litter. I have had smaller pups survive, but if the litter is large I make sure the smaller ones get plenty of opportunity to nurse right away (to get their share of colostrum for the first 48 hrs.) and I supplement their nursing after the second day with a goat's milk & egg yolk formula.

dont weight mesure pups, dont help the smaller ones, let the nature do the job,we get too involved when female is breeding, the best and most healthy pups I ever saw, were the ones from farms in the old days where people had no time for the pups, those pups were very healthy
