Czech registry to AKC help - Page 1

What do you need to send in to AKC besides czech registration papers to register with them? I know that the SV has the ownership transfer. Does the Czech registry have something similar?

I just registered my Czech import puppy to AKC and it takes about two weeks to get AKC registration.
Just follow instruction from AKC site.

You need pedigree and transfer papers.

Where do I get transfer papers from? She is coming from a friend who was given the passport and pedigree, but no transfer. Do I contact the breeder? CAN I contact the breeder lol

You need to contact last person on the pedigree as an owner . That person is probably in Czech. If you need help with translation then contact me.

Star's father was originally born in Germany, then sold to a man in Poland. At the time he fathered Star's litter, he hadn't been registered with AKC yet. It took me NINE MONTHS to get her papers as a result.

Star's breeder needed to submit DNA swab, a photo of the dog, plus the original pedigree, which had to be signed by the previous owner, saying he was transferring the dog to the new owner. First DNA swab was blank, the second got lost, but the third was okay. Original owner forgot to sign the pedigree, so that was another delay.

If your friend's name is on the pedigree, you can send a copy of the pedigree in to the AKC along with the registration, and at the bottom of the AKC registration, there will be something about transferring the dog to another person.

For example, my name was in my dog's pedigree as the owner when it was sent over here, so I filled out my information and had the option to transfer the registration to a new owner on the same AKC paper. It might be better if I scanned the form and showed what I am talking about.

I haven't imported a Czech dog, so I'm not sure if it would be similar or not, but I believe it should be. All I had was a pedigree and passport, too, and I registered my dog just fine.

On this pedigree, there is a place for the owner of the dog. I used this information for the AKC import registration which, on the last page, has "owner information or foreign breeder," I believe. After that, there's a space for "second owner" to be filled out for the person who did not import the dog, but got the dog from the first person who imported the dog.

After looking at examples of Czech pedigrees, I couldn't find a place for the owner, but I was looking via Google, so the resolution wasn't great. If there's no owner listed, go with the breeder information.
