Hi all,

So I was perusing the latest Decknachrichten (for November) and I noticed that in parenthetical notation next to the assigned HD-ZW on most males and many females,that there is now what I presume to be a size breed value as well (GR-ZW). Is this assumption correct on my part ?

Mac and/or Suzy ? Are you out there?

Thanks !

Am I to assume that the number scheme is the same as for hips ? In other words,is the "baseline" value to bee 100,with the lower the number better in terms of producing correct size ? The higher the number,the greater the likelihood of producing oversize offspring ?

And will it really matter if the judges are only paying lip service to the goal of getting size under control ? It IS a great idea if it will be implemented and enforced !

The baseline is 110, if I'm not mistaken, and will go down one point annually until it's 100.

There was another post about it a little while ago.

Edit: Yes, lower is better.

100 = 64,5 cm
1 = 1 mm

Right now 110 is allowed ( sire + dam / 2 ), going down to 100 during the next years like Reliya said.
Will the judges measure honestly? Who knows, for sure not all of them..

but the more measurements, the more precise the results, updated online ( in case there were measurements ) every 3 months.

But don´t forget - the ZW number is a result not only of the dog in question, but of siblings, ancestors, date of birth, and so on, too...like the HD ZW

Kind regards
