Jenni78

This dog is nowhere near me or I would go get her. She is in California. That's not even doable by driving for me.

I worry about the person that buys her, unless they buy her out of sympathy. If I were wealthy, I'd get her on a plane tomorrow. I worry also about her flying so close to whelping. I don't know what picture the seller meant to post, but if that isn't the picture of an "old worn down dog" I don't know what is. She ISN'T EVEN THAT OLD!

And to make it even worse if she ends up in Modesto or Stockton shelters they are both high kill shelters. Geez...

The ad is not a scam. It's pathetic and true. I wrote the owner out of pity for the dog. I wanted to buy her to rescue her myself, but can not afford to myself.
He said if he does not sell her by the 25th he will keep her for her litter.
Surely if enough people donated something we could get her out of their. Im willing to donate something to help her.

I will donate the entire cost if all the puppies are donated to recipients of worthy causes and/or will agree to neuter/spay upon maturity.

Steph at Montana GSD rescue might be a good interim. Someone else will have to attempt a coordination. I will be unavailable, shortly.

Unfortunately, efforts such as these often end up only to encourage the offender to continue his same practices. A very sad place to be, the rock and the hard one.

Beetree, the problem with donating pups is vetting the recipients. I was thinking maybe doing vasectomies and ovary-sparing spays on all the pups before they leave would be a good plan. That way they can still mature and yet there is no danger of them falling into the same type hands their mother fell into.

Yes, unfortunately, someone like this doesn't CARE what we think- only that he got the money he wanted.

I do wish she was closer.

Is there a local rescue agency that could get involved to help this poor old dog out of this dire situation? With a coordinated effort for this, done by the rescue agency, and fund-raising, I am sure that this dog can be helped. Anyone in Californai with a line to an agency?

Has anyone looked at her birth date??? Sad- she looks twice her age!

I know one person in Cali- she might know a rescue. I will check and post back if it's promising.
