Tonight I set my heart free, after 12 years, 6 months, and 4 days of partnership.

All I have to share for right now is some words that came to me while I was, of all things, sitting in a parking lot waiting for AAA to come jump start my van.

But they were written for my boy. My soul. My everything.

All of these pictures were taken before his last ride tonight.

I'll never be able to repay my friend Casey for them.

Strauss left this earth in the same manner he spent his time upon it. Happy and with me.

I will never be the same, but I cannot bring myself to regret one single second with him.

I am glad I had the pleisure to meet this outstanding dog last weekend.
He looked tired because of age, but otherwise he still had a lot of charisma, and for sure he was glad to be with you during his last days.

My sympathies for your loss. I can only imagine your pain. That is an amazing tribute and the pictures are fantastic. HUGS to you while you're mourning this loss in your life.

I am going through over 1000 photos that Casey took (that does not include black and white film that needs developed).

Just hit the 400s. I'll share some more here over the next couple of days if I'm still functioning.
