I saw this last year, tried to get rid off the fence near the dogs since i didnt know what it was. Could not find it on google last year. Found more growing all over the property this year, on bing i finally found it....it's a wild, native cuccumber and is edible before it rippens... Delicious!!
Here are some pics i took this afternoon...more free food ! The wild mushrooms have come back for the fall appearance...more delicious wild food!

Behind the tiny yellow flowers, you can see the tiny fruit forming. The male flowers are much smaller than the female. In two decades of living on this place, I've never seen these little vines till last year.

My cukes have burnt out, just not enough rain this year! Pickle making is over for me. Tomatoes instead, are huge for some reason.
The peach tree. pears and apple trees are bare. So sad, as I canned so many peaches last year, pears, too. And just zero yield this year!
Squash is still coming, here and there!

Behind my kennel, the ground is absolutely covered. I had a lot of clearing done with a bulldozer about a month and ahallf ago and where the ground was cleared, these vines have covered the bare ground. Very pretty and tastes good.
Our tomatoes didn't do very good this year, too hot I think. Beans are still producing.
