Hi everyone,
I have a question, how do you ensure that a puppy has nice Tight Ball paws?
Especially if you get the dog at 10 weeks of age. Is there a way to correct paws if not tight?
I have seen a lot of adult dogs with bad paws and was wondering if there is a way to fix it or prevent it when they are puppies.

Some of it is just genetics, but the more time the dog can spend on natural surfaces as opposed to concrete, the better...and it should go without saying, but they definitely shouldn't be kept on any type of meshed flooring surface such as wire fencing--that nearly ensures a dog that will develop splayed toes.

Good advice--I have a friend whose GSD lives in a sand-based kennel. This dog has some seriously muscled feet.

Function
A bad paw is one that is less functional. Wolves feet.
