I believe I once owned a "twin", a Nick Wienerau son, out of a litter of 15 pups. This dog and his brother were born within seconds, one visible placenta, the dam more than eager to clean up, so we were not able to really "see" what happened - the result: two males, the same outlook, the same attitude, but no proof...
I´ll never know

To be true "identical twins" they need to not only be the same sex, they need to be "mirror twins". In human terms, that means that one is left-handed, one is right-handed, from when the original fertilised egg split into 2 individuals (or only partially separated, as per "Siamese twins") instead of becoming a 2-celled embryo.
It is helpful, but not esential, that their markings also are "mirror images" such as one having a chest spot that curls to its left. one having a chest pattern that curls to its right.

Oh, that's interesting. My twin baby brothers are six years old. The older twin is left-handed, and the younger twin is right-handed.
