Is it possible to find a dog's zw score? If so, how? Thanks!

https://www.sv-doxs.net/search/hund

Fill in the dog´s name, in case you aren´t sure about something, type *.

In case you are no SV member, the result will be the ZW score only.

Awesome! Thanks! So the particular dog I was looking for has a rating of 83. Is that pretty good? Or just average?

It´s pretty good, not awesome, some dogs are in the sixties, but it´s more than okay.

GSD's are not supposed to be bred if the combined average of the male and female is greater than 100. So that particular male could theoretically mate with a female whose ZW was up to 117.
The further below a ZW of 100, the better.

But it does not guarantee good hips, as with everything else with breeding... nothing is certain.  You just do the best that you can.

Yes, 83 is ok. If you consider a number of 100 means the dog produces an average amount of dysplasia for the breed, then the further below 100, the better, but even 100 is only average, not horrible. The ZW is a great system, but like already stated, it's no guarantee. It, like anything else, can be skewed. For example, I know a dog who had a very low score for the longest time. The dog was sent to the USA and ONE person who could not pass OFA due to age restrictions and they had already bred the dog (don't get me started...) sent the xrays to the SV. Well, the dog went A2 or A3 and therefore, the parents' ZW scores rose just because of ONE pup- why? Because that was the ONLY one reported/graded by the SV. All of the OFA goods and excellents weren't factored in. My point is simply that there is no perfect system but the ZW is a darn good one.

Susie, perhaps you can help me. I became a member of the SV database yesterday, trying to find some info on a dog. I thought that the package I selected would give me actual HD/ED ratings by the descriptions, but it didn't. I see no difference between what I could see as a non-member vs. what I could see after being charged 41,88 euros. :/ The translation isn't super clear.

Jenn, have you been able to register, and did you get an e-mail with a registration link afterwards?

I have the full SV package. I would be willing to look up a few dogs for you.
Send them to me instead of putting them on here. or.... give me the dogs names on PDB and I can add the ZW to the pedigree in the "Other health Checks" field

I think that you probably need to purchase "Stammdaten" (Basic Data).

Fantom, I did order Stammdaten. Nothing. I emailed them and said I paid for a package and have no greater access than what I had before, as a non-member and I just got an email saying they refunded my purchase price, but with no explanation. I will PM you the names- THANK YOU!

Thanks for responding, Susie- I think I got it.
