I am looking for op's
what is worth more to you
an excellent working female or an excellent working male and why?
not looking for a battle of genders but a general op of those who breed.
To me a female is of higher value.
also name some females who deserve to be spoken of, everyone always brags about the boys but lets talk about some of the girls.

I can't speak from experience, but the female, to me, is of higher value.
She'll be producing and raising the pups, so they'll learn more from her than from the male.
I've also read in books that the female is the most important in the breeding program.

Indeed!! The female is 60% or more of any breeding ...

I would say the male is more valuable to the breed as a whole. One female can only have so many litters. The male can have an enormous number of litters even past death.

You need both a good male and a good female to produce good dogs...The female has more value to the puppies then a male...
And if you try to find a good female it's not easy...whereas you can find a good male anywhere you want...just pay a stud fee...

if you have a strong female , you can pick and choose a stud that matches and dont even need to be superdog, if you have medioker female you can use any stud you want but it wont help you
the quality of offspring of EVERY male depends on the quality of females he breeds
can mention lots of strong GSD females, but not so much malinois females
