Has anybody had any experience linebreeding on Astor?

by Shelley Strohl on 27 March 2007 - 12:03

I haven't linebred on Astor (yet) but I have (and have had) dogs from Harro through Astor (2: one a4, one a1) and dogs linebred on (father) Harro and (half-brother) Fado. The only thing I would be concerned with is hips. I haven't had my 2 yr. old 4,4 Harro male X-rayed yet, and have not noted any clinical signs of HD, but I will be nervous all the way to the vet the day I do. I LOVED Harro and have loved everything I've had from his line. They are truly DRIVEN, a real handful till thery're two years old. The males can tend to be slow developers (mentally) like some human boys can be, but with thae fore-knowledge of that tendency and ample patience (don't rush them in protection, don't pound too hard for correct obedience when their young, let them grow up in their heads while honing their excellent tracking skills) you can end up with the dog of a lifetime. What are the rest of the bloodlines please? JMO Shelley
