Hey folks, this is an off-shoot from another thread. What have you used to help sound proof your kennel buildings? I recently added rolled insulation to the floor joists, on the ceiling in the basement where I keep our dogs at night. This really muffled the sound in the house. I still have a couple of sections to complete the job. I'm also thinking about adding the thin sheets of styrofoam insulation that comes in the folded sheets. Kyle

Kyle, you have probably done this, but if the walls are built so the dogs cannot see each other then that stops a lot of barking, especially among some dogs. Bob-O

Kyle, I hope you get some good feedback on this as this is a priority for me. I know what Bob-o says is true, but I do not want to close the dogs in so they cannot see anything. I want them to stay alert and stimulated by what's going on outside the kennel, especially for young ones. I realize windows are alot of work to keep clean but I must do something to keep my neighbors happy.

Look in your local yellow pages for someone who does sprayed-in foam insulation (this not a do-it-yourself application) this is the best sound insulation application you can do, it will block out 90% of all noise passing thru walls, etc. Good luck
