my wife took the pup to the vet this morning to get tested for urinary track infection and he told her that the pup still only has one testical is this unnormal or should i be concerned because he was mentioning possible surgery down the road the pup is 4 1/2 months .. itought i felt both of the same with the breeder but the vet tells us that we must have mistaken that for a piece of tissue

69RS, this very same thing happened to me. Make sure you keep in touch with the breeder and know what will happen if that testicle does not descend. Know what your options are especially if future confirmation and breeding is on your schedule. My dog pulled his up somewhere about 3-4 months and it never came back...he's 15 months old now and still only rollin' on one ball and I just don't think it's going to come down.

From what I have been told by WSU it can take up to 9 months to drop the testicles. I would give it maybe a year. But if this pup is guaranteed you do need to contact the breeder. If it doesn't drop he should be nuetored or at the very least the retained testicle removed and he should not be used for breeding. How did it go with his urine test??
