How are the temperaments of the Esko offspring? He should have second and going on third generation offspring. Are you seeing good temperaments?
Thank-you!

would it not depend on what female you use??

by Dog1 on 23 March 2007 - 16:03
There are dogs that tend to produce better or a higher percentage of call it working ability. Clearwater is right, the female has a lot to do with it. In the second and third generation, even in the same litter you will have dogs with different abilities. So consider the pedigree and what the dogs in it have produced. More importantly look at the individual dog itself.
Bear in mind that there are many dogs with tremendous abilities that never reach their potential as the abilities were not properly developed.

Good and bad, that¿s absolutely right, no structure in it, seems to depend on the female, sometimes a lack of color - but almost always very good structure, and a lot of good hip ratings in his offspring.
Kind regards,

Dawn,
I have a son of Esko v Danishenhof and V Fritzi vom
Messina. He is a beautiful dog and has what I
consider to be a superior temperament. Of course,
he is my baby boy. He is very dominent and I need
to remind him on occasion who pays the bills in this
household. He has a calm and steady temperament.
He loves to work and is a joy to have around.

Esko is considered to be an improver of hips and structure. Pigment and working ability are definitely lacking, and should be brought in from the mother line. This has been well known, and I believe that many of his progeny are better balanced because of good breeding choices. Best Wishes, Jonah
